Merry Hill Spring/Summer Fashion Fete and a £50 Outfit Challenge

Last Saturday and Sunday the Westfield Merry Hill shopping centre held a celebration of Spring / Summer fashion in the form of a Fashion Fete!

Stores from the centre had set themselves up with a selection of their wares on pretty stands, lined with bunting, and the centre's event area had become a green field for the weekend! I had a wander around the fete and found many a pretty thing, and more importantly some bargains as many of the stands were publicising special sale rates and discounts for the weekend.

There was a lovley cupcake stand with some free sweet treats, but I knew straight away where I was heading: Hook a Handbag.

Yes, in the middle of the fete was a Hook a Duck stand with a difference - hook the right quacker, and you got yourself entered into a draw for a gorgeous fuschia pink handbag. Unfortunately I failed to hook the correct duck (and I thought my tactic of going for pink a pink one would work for sure!), obviously I also made the boyf have a go, and he also came out handbagless. Sigh. I'd love to know who won it!

My disappointment did not last long, however, as it was time for a Spring / Summer Splurge! I set myself a little Gok - style challenge: could I get myself a whole Spring style outfit for £50? The answer was most definitely yes!

I was actually a little overwhelmed by all the lovely things I found and changed my mind several times about what to spend my pennies on. Here is what I finally settled on:
As someone with Light colouring, I'm so in love with all of the candy coloured pastels out there at the moment, I just had to do an homage to the candy shop!

Here's what my Spring - fresh outfit for £50 consists of:

Floral printed denim jacket, £24.99 - New Look - I love the cropped, nipped in style of this jacket which means that it doesn't detract from my waist, and the soft, faded floral print is just gorgeous
Mint green vest top - £3.99 - New Look and Lemon ballet flats - £7.99 - New Look - I love mint green, and yet hardly own any of it, something that has been rectified by this great basic top. The lemon yellow flats are SO comfortable, and will go with so much of my Summer Wardrobe
Coral Pleated Midi Skirt - £12.00 - Primark - I love the bright coral colour of this skirt, and quite frankly can't believe it was only £12! The full midi skirt is a bit of a wardrobe staple for me so I can see this getting lots of wear. It came with a skinny black belt, which I swapped out for a gold one of my own.

And here are some of the other goodies I was tempted by:

Metallic shorts and ladylike handbag - Topshop
 Primark does Prada!
Gorgeous sailboats print knits in Oasis
Cute retro playsuit in River Island
Vegetable print knits in River Island
 Floral print bag by Clarks

Very chic edge to edge jacket in Vero Moda
Feeling rather set up for Summer now, thanks Merry Hill!

Disclosure: I was given a £50 gift card by Merry Hill to spend on Spring/Summer Fashion, but the choices and opinions are my own.
