| The big black doors of the fabulous Hairdressers building |
Hello folks, I'm back and pretty much fighting fit now, so I thought for my returning post I'd show you some pics of a little vintage gem that has opened in nearby Droitwich. A mutual contact introduced me to Joe from The Hairdressers saying, "you just have to go to her salon, you'll love it", and my oh my she was right.
Joe was kind enough to invite me over for a coffee and to view the salon and as soon as I walked in through the big black doors I was seriously impressed.(the building is the old registry office, so looks pretty imposing!). I was surrounded by gorgeous mid century furniture, and walked up to the reception desk - a gorgeous 1950s nautical themed bar!

I sat down and had a coffee and chat with Joe who explained that her husband and her had worked in the hairdressing industry for a while (we in fact worked out that she used to do my mom's hair many years ago!) and decided to open a salon together that suited their own style. Although vintage is very much Joe's thing (you only have to look at her own fab clothes to see this, a very stylish lady!) she provides modern and contemporary hairdressing along side the traditional vintage sets and styles with the aim of providing a service to 'grown up woman' giving 'proper hair styles' that suit them individually, rather than following fashion fads.

I was then given a tour of the salon, met 'her maj' (lovely to see the queen presiding over the hairdressing activities!) and saw the bank of fabulous traditional style over head dryers. Another great feature of the salon is the DIY blowdry bar - a traditional dressing table, where if you only want to pop in for a quick cut, or a touch up of your colour, you can dry your hair yourself and give yourself a manicure or spritz of perfume at the same time! Towels are stored in an old hostess trolley, and drinks are served in Vintage glass cups.

I'll be back at The Hairdressers on the 21st of May giving quick tips on body shape whilst other fabulous ladies serve cupcakes and fit designer lingerie - all accompanied by cocktails, of course. Look out on my Facebook page for more details!
