Review - Keds

When Keds contacted me to try out some of there Spring range, I opened the email with some trepidation. Afterall, Keds make classic plimsolls, right? A fab, sporty shoe, if you have that sports/casual look down. Which I don't. At all - not exactly at home in sportswear.

But never fear! I was actually really pleasantly surprised to learn that Keds do much, much more than plimsolls.

I got to try out a fabulous, super Summery pair of espadrille-style flats.

So what did I think? Well, firstly the colours are just gorgeous, with so many I was bound to find plenty in my wardrobe to coordinate. I love the traditional rope style edging to the sole, and the low-rise vamp means these look really feminine, a lot more along the lines of a ballet pump style than a lot of the espadrilles I have seen around at the moment. You also have a bit of a choice of looks, as the ribbon style ankle strap unthreads from the back of the shoe. I felt that with jeans or capri's they looked better without, to help elongate the leg a little, whereas the strap looks super cute when paired with a skirt or sundress.

The shoes feel well put together. They have a pretty sturdy rubber sole which was great for scrambling over rocks at the beach, but I did find that it could be a little slippy on wet surfaces (unfortunately something we have to contend with all too much in this country). The fabric is quite firm, even though I have quite narrow feet they felt quite tight at first, however after a few wears they seem to be 'giving' and moulding to my foot quite nicely.

I often struggle to find comfortable yet attractive flats, so these are an absolute winner for me! Here are my pick of some of the other lovely Spring Keds styles.

Disclosure: These shoes were provided to me for review purposes by Keds, but all opinions remain my own.
