Review - Strip Lashes by the Vintage Cosmetic Company

It's no secret that I love false lashes - as someone 'blessed' with fairly fair lashes myself, I wear them almost every time I go out. They really add a spot of glamour, and that finishing touch to your makeup look. They also help balance heavier eye makeup if you go for that kind of style (which I do!). It's also no secret that I love vintage glamour, so I was thrilled to be sent some false lashes from the team at new, vintage-inspired The Vintage Cosmetic Company to try out.

First of all, the packaging is beyond cute. Sorry, but I'm a sucker for anything pink!

Betty

Gracie

Just mascara, for comparison
I was sent two styles to try, 'Gracie', a full, fun and flirty style, and 'Betty' which is fuller at the outer edge of the lash to give you an almond eye look.

Both sets of lashes were easy to apply (I used my own preferred lash glue, Duo) and I have successfully worn both on nights out and they have lasted the duration without flicking up at the edges or migrating across my face! Also they have stood up well to repeated use - something I think is really important for a strip lash if you wear them regularly as cost soon ramps up if you have a new pair each time!

Of the two I prefer Betty, just because it is a little more unusual, and also the almost 'half lash' look means that it's great for wearing during the day when you don't want such a dramatic look. It's worth noting that I have quite large eyes and I still found that the Gracie was a bit too long and needed trimming - make sure you do this to ensure that the lash fits your eye.

Overall I'm really happy with the lashes, and would definitely be keen to try some of their other styles. The only thing I would change is that as someone who is very fair, I prefer a lash with a brown tone to it rather than jet black, as it looks a little more natural and less harsh, so it would be great if they could introduce a brown tone lash to the range.

Disclosure : These Lashes were sent to me for review by The Vintage Cosmetic Company, but all opinions remain my own.
