A couple of weeks ago I had a great experience as a style ambassador for Brum working with everyone's favourite place for a spot of rummaging - TK Maxx. They are currently touring the UK looking for the nation's style stars.
I went out on the street with their camera crew on a style search, looking for Birmingham's top Treasure Seekers - those with an eclectic sense of style who like to pull together a look from different sources, and hunt down fashion treasures and bargains for sport!
I felt a little bit like Davina McCall in Streetmate (showing my age!) - literally running down the street after people as we spotted them (in heels, I'd like to add!) and trying to flag them down for a photo. This was made a little more difficult a task by the fact that it was pouring with rain most of the day, so most people had umbrellas so didn't see me chasing after them untill I was practically on top of them!
It was a fabulous day, despite the rainy weather, and you can see all of the results on the TK Maxx Facebook page, including an interview with me about my favourite things in Brum, and the pics of our favourite street style stars. My favourite part of the day was probably getting to interview all the lovely Treasure Seekers, and find out all about their style inspirations and shopping tips. The lovely thing that came across time and time again is that you have to dress for you, and no one else, and as long as you are wearing things that make you feel good, your confidence will shine through - a message I've been promoting for a long time!
